Wow, I forgot all about this blog that I set up, as you can see from the last page ha.
2014 has come and gone, and in that time I have managed to complete a first shortish movie, Hollows End , and begin a long gestating project entitled Necroshift.
Hollows played well at a lot of festivals, well according to the response and feedback. Although , I always take these things with a grain of salt.Great feedback from certain festival promotors can always mean a few things, but normally I find it is, thanks for letting us have your movie so we can fill up the spots on our schedule, and while I am always grateful, I never have any expectations, that way, i can never be let down.
Necro however, has been a completely different animal altogether. After making a considered decision to update my equipment, which meant practically breaking the bank, it has been a tough few months gettin this film together.Scheduling is always the ass kicker for ambitious projects and this film has been no exception. If it wasn't actors and conflicting schedules, then it was the location constantly letting us down for the shoot dates we had already agreed.Either way, whatever the reason, we finally decided to look elsewhere for a location that would suit our needs, and hopefully we have managed to secure somewhere for the near future. Hopfeully the film will be finished by Feb of this year and I look forward to letting the world into our little world for an hour or so.
And on to the next project.I am currently writing the script for a short called The Sceptic. We have some great local actors involved and locations secured (hoping that wont change) and this one is a change of pace for AH.Its still in the genre, but a more character driven piece I feel. Its early days at the minute but again, its something I look too.
Lots of exciting plans then, and as always plenty of personal goals to achieve.I have met some great people over 2014 as well as some complete pricks, but I'm told that's a given. When you lve something, its hard to let go, and this applies to any dreams and aspirations.
As the mighty John Carpenter said.
"I don't want to be part of the demographics. I want to be an individual. I wear each of my films as a badge of pride. That's why I cherish all my bad reviews. If the critics start liking my movies, then I'm in deep trouble"

Pitches and People.
Here we are again,
After a long day at Uni yesterday, where our friend and lecturer Mike Boyle informed us of his history as a nutmixer, came to a close. We retreated to Flix Movie Cafe for a pint while awaiting our train.
Along with good buds Peter Jackson and Junior Ayub, we think we came to a consensus about a pitch idea for an advertising campaign for our Uni, CCAD, hopefully it will come off well cause we all got pretty excited about it.
Also my home film kit is now complete. Along with my Canon 600d camera, i now have, 2 self made sliders, a crane JIB. A few lenses, and a audio recording kit comprising of my Olympus digital recorder, microphone and self made self made boom pole, i can now begin working on the flicks i have scripted . I have made solid friendships and assembled a reliable crew for any future projects.
THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN.
Beers Ya'll.
